Devon yurt is located at Borough farm which is situated on the edge of the Tamar valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty, in the south west of England. We are on the Devon side in a high position between Bodmin moor and Dartmoor,  being just a few minutes from Cornwall makes us easily accessible to beauty spots in both counties.

Our family have been at Borough farm for nearly ten years now, during that time, we have restored the farm house and barns and created vegetable gardens and ponds as well as planting numerous trees and stocking the fields with our much loved Devon Longwool sheep,  ponies and chickens.

During the summer of 2006 the concept of hosting yurting holidays here at Borough was formed, our first yurt,  Great Links was hand crafted locally over the winter months, using quality coppiced ash from Dartmoor  We took delivery of it in the spring of 2007.  Our first summer season was so successful that we ordered another yurt – Little Links, which was built over the following winter, this yurt is smaller and more romantic in feel, with the idea of being used for couples and younger families wishing to stay here. We placed Little Links nearer to the farm stead for guests who were just venturing into the outdoors and for those who would find the remoteness of Great Links too great a step to take initially.

Our yurts share a bath tent positioned in a separate field between the two yurts. Our second season brought us fabulous guests and although tempted to expand numbers further we have made the conscious decision to remain at two yurts, this enables us to maximise seclusion and privacy for our guests.  in 2009 for the benefit of guests staying for longer periods and for those with little people on board, we added a shower house which offers a beautiful wet room style shower overlooking the moors, the building uses many reclaimed materials which keeps within our green framework to our business.  It offers a laundry and drying facility as well as a warm washing up area.

We are now entering our fifth season at Devon Yurt, as one of the premier glamping sites in the uk,  we believe we are now very close to perfecting the art of yurt camping,  we have listened carefully to our guests and adapted and learnt from them – we have celebrated what they have liked about our holidays and changed what they liked least.

We realise the importance of your comfort on your holiday so our yurts now have full sized beds,  they have always been heated by a log burner however, and we have a fire ready laid for your first night.  The yurts are aesthetically pleasing and we aim to pay close attention to the smallest of details not only in the look but in the green, natural concept which began our venture many seasons ago.  We aim to make your stay as enjoyable and memorable as possible.
