the area
Our Yurts are located at the eastern edge of Borough farm. To the East are the dramatic moorlands of Dartmoor and to the West lies the picturesque Bodmin Moor of Cornwall.
Devon and Cornwall are divided by the river Tamar. The Tamar Valley is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The Valley provides a variety of opportunities both natural and cultural, from canoeing along the Tamar or cycling or walking along her banks to visiting the historic quays of Morewellham and Cotehele.
Nearby is Roadford Reservoir which provides an excellent facility for sailing and kayaking and has nature walks around its shores.
The coasts to our north are excellent for surfing, power kiting and beachcombing.
Brentor is our nearest tor - which has an ancient church perched on the top of its craggy granite outcrop. Brentor provides an excellent view over the surrounding countryside. It also lies on a lay line and so is spiritually a very special place.
Lydford Gorge has many miles of beautiful trails. From Lydford you can take the granite way - a safe cycle track to Okehampton. Cycles are available to hire from Sourton. Dartmoor provides a variety of outdoor opportunities from hiking to letter boxing or climbing or you can enjoy horse riding at Cholwell, Mary Tavy. Alternatively, you may just wish to sit back and enjoy the view!
Should you wish to take a break from cooking you will be well catered for as there are many excellent and award winning pubs and restaurants in our area. Just ask us for a recommendation.
The variety and choice is there for you to create your holiday to suit the needs of your friends and family.
