Enjoy Precious Family Time
At the yurts themselves, families can enjoy playing outdoor games in their private meadows, indoor games in the play barn or board games snuggled up in the yurts with the log burners keeping them toasty warm. Each yurt comes complete with its own fire pit which forms a central point for alfresco dining in the evenings, with toasting marshmallows an age old favourite.
Relax and Unwind
The yurts have their own log-fired, fresh water hot tub, from which you can star gaze at night. This area of Devon, close to Dartmoor, is well known as a dark night sky area, where the night skies are crystal clear, find your favourite constellation or look out for numerous shooting stars whilst soaking away the activities of the day! – Why not order one of our hot chocolate night sky packs to really add to your night sky experience?
Child-Friendly Farm Activities
Children enjoy helping Julia and her family with feeding and collecting eggs from the hens in the morning, helping to bottle feed the lambs and doing the rounds on the farm feeding all the lovely animals. In the Spring, there are newly hatched chicks to cuddle. During the Summer months, the beautiful Connemara ponies and stunning rare breed sheep are often shown at the local agricultural shows, great fun is had shampooing and grooming the animals to make them look their best! Young guests have even been awarded a prize rosette to take home for their help with preparing the animals!
Set out on Dartmoor adventures
Out and about, this area of West Devon has so much on offer, Dartmoor is right on the doorstep providing beautiful walks of various difficulties and durations and great opportunities for wild swimming in crystal clear rivers and plunge pools, you will be enchanted. Try your hand at letterboxing, there are numerous treasure boxes hidden on the moor, take a map and see how many you can find. Brentor, the nearest Tor to the farm with its picturesque church perched high on its peak, is always a firm favourite, you can even spot the yurts from the summit! Lydford Gorge has a stunning wooded valley walk, with a dramatic waterfall and cascading river, next door to the gorge, there are even alpacas which you can arrange to take for a walk. Tavistock, an ancient Stannary town is a delight to amble around with its coffee shops and markets, including a farmer’s market on alternate Saturdays.
Catch a wave on Cornwall’s Coast
To the North is the rugged Cornwall coast with super surf for body boarding and breathtaking sandy beaches, borrow some wet suits and boards from the play barn and make a day of it! why not round off the day with fish and chips on the beach at sunset!

With cycling routes, horse riding opportunities, tree surfing and rock climbing both indoor and out, as well as kayaking, boating and fishing adventures to be had on the rivers nearby, there is plenty to occupy the whole family.
Give the cook a break!
