Staying in a yurt
Our handcrafted Devon Yurts sit on our nature-friendly family farm between Devon and Cornwall with a rather magical story to tell. We contentedly restored the farm house and barns, sowed vegetable gardens, dug ponds, planted trees, and stocked the fields with our much-loved rare breed Longwool and Zwartble sheep, Connemara ponies and good looking chickens.
We grow flowers for you all season long to pick from daffodils to sweet peas and dahlias. If it rains, there is still tons to do. Children are welcome to feed and pet the lambs, as well as collecting fresh eggs and feeding the hens.
Little Links is lovely for romantic couples, and young families will appreciate being a bit closer to the farm. Great Links is the more remote of the two yurts and favours those with a wish for great adventure.
You are welcome to bring your four-legged friend as we now offer dog-friendly holidays (one per yurt) as well as your own bikes and horses (if you them) as there are some amazing trails around our farm. We will share our family’s favourite wild swimming spots and favourite beaches if you need to cool off.
Our yurts can be booked individually or as a group booking to also include the Granary B&B for those slightly less adventurous!
If you have not visited us before, it is best if you arrive on site before dark so that you may orientate yourselves during daylight and also the farm itself is easier to locate during daylight hours.
We have some fresh produce available for you to buy including vegetables, seasonal fruits, salads, fresh free-range eggs and elderflower cordial, as well as some fresh homemade meals ready for your convenience which are very popular for your arrival night or after a long day exploring the area.
There are laundry and drying facilities, a fridge – freezer and a warm washing up area in the shower barn.
Tap water and water carriers are available for you. Matches, fire-lighters, kindling, logs and camping stove gas and barbeque coals are available for you to purchase from the farm. Your first basket of logs and kindling is on us, and your fire will be laid, and bed made. Linen will be provided for the large bed in your yurt, for any extra beds please either rent linen from us or bring some with you – please let us know a week before your arrival date if you wish to rent extra linen.
All cooking equipment, cutlery and crockery are provided as are basic tea and coffee provisions, sugar, salt and pepper, eco-friendly hand and washing up liquid, tea towels, dishcloths, kitchen roll, toilet roll etc.
There is a cool box in each yurt with cold ice blocks supplied, these blocks can be refrozen in the freezer in the shower house. There is a selection of games and books available for you to borrow.
Each Yurt has its very own private hot tub, so if you have selected to use it, don’t forget your swimmers!
