It is harvest time at Borough Farm
Early Autumn at Borough Farm and it is time to harvest the squash and apples. Whilst we have planted new apple trees in the orchard since arriving at Borough Farm in 2002, there still remain some traditional Tamar Valley varieties of cider and juicing apples. 2018 has been a bumper year for apple growing and I don’t think I have ever seen so many beautiful apples on our main cropping trees. With the yurts now packed away for the winter, we can use the play barn as our vegetable storage area. We have put all the apples safely into trays and stacked them on the racks ready for turning into juice and apple puree for our home made crumbles.
